What some great minds have said about forgiveness.

Jesus gave us The Lord’s Prayer.
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us” This represents about 27% of the words in the full prayer—it’s a massive amount - it must have great significance.

  Jesus asks God to forgive those that crucified him. (Luke 23)
“Forgive them Father for they know not what they do”
This represents about 34% of his recorded words on the cross. It has to be very significant.

In Luke 5 (17:26) Jesus said to the paralytic, “My friend, your sins are forgiven you”
He doesn’t ask permission from those that had been offended by the paralytic.
If Joe Bloggs gave me a punch on the nose I would be curious to know why Jesus forgave him with no reference to me.
But, it appears that He does.
